Sam Braysher’s album - Dance Little Lady, Dance Little Man - features the acclaimed London sax player in a personal take on some more unusual jazz standards, as well as an engaging original track.

Braysher is joined by Catalan Jorge Rossy on drums and the charismatic Tom Farmer on double bass, producing a host of standards and creating a stunning album that exudes a sonorous beauty.

The American song book has long been a source of inspiration for album tracks for musicians around the world and UK saxist Sam brochure takes some of the lesser-known standards and delivers them with great panache on his latest album, his distinctive and distinguished alto sax bringing a modern take to some classic tunes.

From Dexter Gordon’s For Regulars Only to Gershwin’s Walking the Dog, the trio smoothly  interpret great writing with great verve. More traditional standards such as Heart and Soul sit alongside the more unusual Some Other Spring and even a tip of the hat to Disney with Reflection from kids’ movie Mulan.

Underpinning Braysher sit the delightful double bass of Tom Farmer and the drums of Jorge Rossy. As well as making up one quarter of the MOBO award-winning British jazz band Empirical, the former can be heard with artists as diverse as Anoushka Shankar, Joe Stilgoe, Ant Law and Ivo Neame. Meanwhile, Rossy is best known for work with the Brad Mehldau Trio, along with Lee Konitz, Chick Corea, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Wayne Shorter, Tom Harrell, Carla Bley and Joshua Redman. His contribution with Braysher includes vibes and marimba as well as drums.
